Any of you guys "mod" your computers?

I ran across a website the other day that you might be interested in, if you do.

www.xoxide.com

There's some pretty outlandish shit on there. I think I'm just behind the times though.

Yeah that stuffs been around for a while. Kinda like ricing out your computer instead of your car.

Most of that stuff is for looks but has no effect on performance.

How effective is the water cooling? It's a pretty pricey setup, and kinda overkill for a home setup. ( I would think )

I doubt I would ever try it out, but it's nice always nice to know how good it is..

I don't know as much as some of these guys, but I've heard "cryo"ing computers speeds them up a lot. It's kind of like picking between an air cooled motorcycle and one that uses a cooling system.

It will definately keep the CPU cooler than conventional fans, and would allow you to overclock it much more, but it's impractical unless your a big time gamer.

If you want to see a pretty amazing cooling system check this one out : http://www.go-l.com/desktops/machl38/cooling/index.htm

It keeps the CPU -35C or less. Pretty amazing.

It's pretty much basic...the cooler the computer, the faster it can go. But to make it go faster you've got to pump up the core voltage (overclocking). I've seen some P4 2.6's overclocked to 3.5 and be perfectly stable. It's pretty fun, but just like cars you can melt shit down if you don't know what you are doing.
