I have a virus!

AVG Anti-Virus says I have a virus on my computer. I have no idea on how to remove it. Has anyone seen this virus or can anyone help me remove it?

Goto that directory and delete the file, if not then goto you're task manager and see if it's running in there, if so then end task on it then goto directory and delete.

There's not much info on the Web about it. Looks like it comes from Kazaa. You could try rebooting into safe mode and delete the executable. It might get copied back if it's being installed from somewhere else. Try running Adaware as well and see if it detects it. You might try installing another AV, but do so at your own risk. The free versions of McAfee and Norton are a harder to remove from your system than the virus.

Thank you! It was running in task manager, and was 24xx big! I deleted it and ran the test again, and it's gone.

Make sure it is not set to run on boot up. Search the registry for that filename and if so delete the key for it.

OK, it's back again, but a different file. This pop up screen has popped up a few times now, but when I run the AVG to check for viruses, it doesn't detect it.

By the way, I don't have kazaa on my computer. And like I said, I don't know alot about computers, so I don't really know what to do from here. TIA

Why don't you just install some anti-virus software? or install anti-spyware software..

Spyware Blaster stops spyware before it has a chance to say do you want to install it.

disable system restore... then run AVG, the virus is in the restore folder. should get it after wards.. (or it will delete the restore directory {which is now corrupt with the virus and no good anyways}) after the virus is gone.. re-enable system restore
