Dual processors and XP

At work we have a system that had XP installed from an image. Anyways, the system has dual processors and now will not let the users applications use both processors, XP only sees it as being one processor. I know in the past with NT and possibly 2K you had to install the OS from scratch if the system had dual processors, does this still hold true for XP and is there any way to correct the issue without redoing the system? This is a one-of-a-kind system so if I have to redo it, the user will be without a system for a couple of days, and that's not acceptable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You cant install a single proc cpu winxp image on a dual proc and expect it to use both, the kernels are different.

You'll have to reinstall.
