running a batch file

ok here is what i need to do. i need to track users who visit an intranet site. i cant use the server variable host_name for some reason. so i have to work around it. i can get the ip address, however. here is what i have thought out.

get the ip address, write it to a table in some db... use the ip address to create a string and save it to a batch file that will run a tracert on the ip i gave it. output the results of the batch file to a text file, then write them in the same table the ip address is stored it.

sound good?

here is my problem, how do i execute the batch file?

Dude, unless you are making $5/hr, your boss is saving quite a bit of money by not having you worry about it.

Hell, even if you make $5/hr, if you spent more than a day on it, you are saving him money.

Damn, I tried to get $250 bucks from you in the other thread for a reverse DNS lookup.

If you PM your email I'll email you a homegrown dll that does exactly the same (reverse dns lookup) via an ASP control. Register the control and walla, reverse dns lookup in your ASP code.

Gratis. But don't bitch to me if it doesn't work for you.

I can hook u up in the morning. I'm going to bed.
