yeah i just read up on them...

dont know about the treo, but the sidekick seems gay. then again, im comparing them the Sharp SL 5600 which SYN/ACK posted. the sidekick has a proprietary OS from t-mobile, and im sure the treo does too. is there a way to make calls from PDAs such as the SL 5600?

I heard from a friend that works from T-mobile that there new pocket pc phone will come out in feb 2004. This will include wireless network card, 64mb ram instead of the 32mb and pocket 2003 op. If I were you I would wait a few months to get one unless you wanna spend some money.

treo is built by handspring which uses the PALM OS.

I wouldn't hold my breath expecting a big discount from T-Mobile once your contract is up. Best bet would be to buy one on eBay. Check out Howard Forums.com for more info on T-Mobile as well as other carriers. I've found the info there very good.

HAHA, big discount... Can you define that for me??? In agreement with Jose, one other reminder is to hold off until end of November. Initiation of number portability and the greatest shopping season of the year means that the cell companies are going to be fighting with each other, thus the chance of a "big discount" is much greater.

Are you looking for a true PDA phone or are you mainly looking for a phone w/ a good OS? PDA phones don't fit in your pocket for shit, and somewhere in the future there should be some phones available with MSFT SmartPhone. If you need it now, check eBay and find a Euro phone w/ SmartPhone and consider it as a "normal sized phone" with MSFT Office on it. Just an option, not a requirement -- haha!

My dad was looking into to them PDA/Phones. He called the company and the guy said don't give bother, If your Cell goes out, only the PDA will work. Or if the PDA goes out the cell only works.

I wasn't to impressed with that one. I had one of the Blackberry's from work and I used it all last week and wasn't impressed with it either.

my boss has a nokia 6350 (i think, the long phone from t-mobile) and a sony tg50 which he can use to connect to his cell phone, then get online. they both use bluetooth to establish the connection. pretty sweet stuff he was showing me yesterday. the tg50 uses palm os 5? or 5.2 something like that? anyone have any input on these? im looking at about $600 for both then about $75 for the bluetooth handsfree set...
