We've bought a ton of gigabyte motherboards, stay away from their dual's, but their single cpu mobo's seem to work great.

Never had any probs with Tyan, they've always worked well for me.

I guess I should rephrase my discontent with Tyan, it's just their dual processor boards. I have a Thunder K7, if I have to reboot the server it's like rolling the dice, not sure if it will restart, just hang at a blank screen or at a BIOS screen. And then I may have turn off the power supply once, twice or three times just to get the box to boot past the BIOS. I've contacted Tyan and there only suggestion besides making sure that I have the latest BIOS is send in the board and wait two to three weeks for them to take a look at it.

So I you have trouble with your Tyan board better have a spare board around or your SOL.

The same is true with ASUS however they will at least have your old board back or replaced within 7 days.
