Abecx and Syn/Ack

Just for you...

Over the next three months, I've talked the higher ups into running a concurrent test. We are developing an app (double secret application development).

Me and one other person (versed in the ways of Linux) will develop the app on a Linux/JBoss/J2EE box (sorry Abecx, it gotta be Java!)

Two other people will concurrently develop the same app on a Wintel box with .NET

We'll compare development notes and performance at the end of the year.

Let the better box win!

I'll be doing that too shortly.

Gotta be Java for partnership reasons (other companies). Truth is, it would probably run faster as a PHP app, but you do what you gotta do.

Because of the nature of the app, Java will be fine.

I actually I'm almost 100% certain at this point that the Linux/Apache/Java combination will outperform handily. The app is more about concurrent light use than intensive CPU action.
