Rambus question

Alright, now i have a compaq presario 7000 with 2 sticks of Samsung RDRAM at 128 mb at PC800 with the two spare slots filled in with terminators. Now when i try to put in my new stick of samsung 256MB PC800 the PC balks and beeps and refuses to activate the monitor.

One of the sticks says PC800 - 40 and the new stick says PC800 - 45

im confused and pissed.

Shitty thing about rambus ... as with older EDO, and apparently dual channel DDR ... has to be upgraded in pairs. That's why the terminators are there. You're going to need another stick. Either get another 256, or return the 256 and get two 128's.
