more RH9 questions...

ok.. im retarded and i changed my desktop to TWM... how can i change the desktop i want to use from the command line??

next how do i add a user to the admin group? i see a list of groups... but if a add them to adm.. all i get is the account expired when trying to log in?

also.. can someone point me to a website with some basic command line commands??? i.e. like dos's edit, attrib etc???

edit: how can i create a "batch" file and set it up to run when a user logs in??

btw.. i should be making the switch on all the home computers soon

To change type 'switchdesk' at the shell. That will bring up a gui tool. Or you can type 'switchdesk whatever_windowmanager_you_have_installed'. So 'switchdesk enlightenment' will switch you to enlightenment - which is what you should be using.

yes i had tried http://www.redhat.com but there support page sucks.. (if you are not registered im guessing)

tdlp.org looks to have most stuff im going to need!!

I usually just type:

apache howto linux
mysql howto linux
etc...

in google if I need help.

ill keep you in mind when i get completly stuck right now I dont need answers quick.. so im taking my time with learning it

I just found an ISP that i will be able to use with linux (damn dial-ups ).. so ill be signing up for that here as soon as I get a chnace!

You can use any PPP ISP... which would be about 100% of them...

Any ISP that isn't AOL, pretty much. ...and people have made programs that even makes it possible with AOL I think. Most ISPs just do not offer support for linux users.
