I have dial up and want something faster

How do I go about doing this and who do I trust?
I have AOL on dial up. And they have an AOL for broadband. I think thats stupid. Because its not broadband. You have to get broadband first then order there AOL. Thats why im not sure who to trust. I like AOL.
So who do I call to get faster service and do you have the #
Do I need to beware of anything they may tell me i need but really dont.
I am what you call computer stupid. (just ask chris)

Call Verizon up and ask them about the DSL packages they have. Don't get the slow one. Or call up Comcast and tell them to hook you up with cable. ...OR... order 27 phone lines, splice them all together and have yourself a T1 LAN!

if this is for your shop, most likely you cant get anything. DSL is distance limited, since you are out in the boonies, you probably you cant get that. And you probably can't get cable interent since they usually only go to houses.

Only other option is satellite and its expensive, like 500 install and over $100/month.

Some companies are putting in wireless internet than can be up to 10 miles away from the equipment, but thats only in a few spots as well.

Just gotta start calling around.

He's right though, more than likely you won't have much in the way of broadband options out in Seagoville. You might try running a search on DSL Reports.com and see see what you come up with.

Satellite is inherently expensive but for those that have that as the only option and need it that's the only way to go. Charges vary depending on whether you buy or rent/lease the equipement.

You're in Seagoville right? I don't believe we offer services out there just yet. It is an area we're working on upgrading, but as of right now, we don't have anything.

I can give a great deal on Comcast High-speed-internet or Video services. (Provided you're in our area)

If not, I recommend Verizon or SBC for DSL, both are pretty good.

I wouldnt recommend verizon, they are totally unorganized, you'd be better off getting a cable modem, faster, and less of a headache.

Most Cable internet providers have business grade services available. Charter, for instance, has business service that gives you upto 10mbps downloading and 1.5 up. It comes with 5 IP addresses and lets you run webhosting too. It cost about 90 bucks a month.

Yep, but I currently have DL speeds a tad faster than cable.
