Question msckin.exe ???

What is this program? I'm running windows XP and for a while it was sucking up my whole processor usage (making things very slow).

Any help is appreciated and if this is not supposed to be on my computer help me with how to get it off

Thanks,
Jerred

don't know for sure....but it could be a virus. Get Norton's and check. Maybe just close it....if nothing else you can restart right? Someone else chime in

It's definitely not a Microsoft / XP process. End it, and see what happens. It's either from something you've installed (ie: either part of the necissary components, or a spyware component), or it's a virus.

I'm leaning towards virus, if it jacks your cpu usage to 100% (though Kazaa Lite used to do that, as did Gaim, due to bugs in the programming that have since been fixed)

that's the problem, it keeps coming back after shutting it down, for a little while it will keep quiet but then wham, start sucking up cpu again

Well guys, figured it out. Wasn't really a virus, just one of those stupid ass "load without your consent programs" that I must have picked up while visiting some website. I was trying to figure it out for a bit and found it and it's little partner hanging out in my program files under a different named folder. Needless to say, I had to end 3 processes in the task manager and delete the folder before they could boot back up.

If anyone gets this crap, find a folder in your program files called clientman
