IE Auto Complete Problem

I use Auto Complete a lot with IE for logging in faster with various accounts. For some reason it's not remembering my username and password even though I have it enabled. I've tried disabling and re-enabling with no success. Any ideas? I've also updated to IE 6 SP1 and still no change.

Is it auto completing other things, just not username/password?

You might try a repair on IE. Or a system restore to a time when it was working (if you're running XP or ... God forbidd ... ME).

. . .

Shit. I'm glad I had my HECC off. Power just randomly decided to go out

It's not Auto Completing anything (Forms, URL's, etc..). I'll double check to see if Repair is an option (I'm almost certain I upgraded from from IE 6 to SP1).

I recently found this new browser that I have been testing. Its called Slimbrowser www.flashpeak.com . There is a menu item called Autologin. You fill in your user name, password and hit "Add Autologin form current page" and it saves your information. Next time you want to go to that site you select it from the Autologin dropdown and it takes you to the page and automatically logs you in. Pretty slick. Right now I use it alot more than MyIE.

Thanks for the info MoonDog but I'm hooked on IE. One of the features I like is that I Import/Export my Favorites/Cookies from home to work and vice versa.

login/pass

i get this sometimes too. try typing your username. then enter a bogus password in the password field. it should ask you if you want to save the bogus password. say yes. then when you get a login error, retype your correct password and say yes to save your password again. not too sure about your history not auto-completing in relation to your login/pass problems though.

Redownloaded IE 6 SP1 last night and Auto Complete still doesn't work. Any other suggestions? Guess I'll be doing some digging in the MS KB site this afternoon

Looks like I've got it fixed now! I was searching on HP's website for any patches or upgrades and found that there was a fix for the problem.
