Dual cable? Or cable/dsl?

I remember someone telling me once they had a "dual cable modem" setup.. and I wasn't real sure if I should believe them, but now I'm a little curious. Would it be possible to get two broadband accounts and network the connection between two computers to share the bandwith?

I am not understanding what you are wanting to accomplish. Multiple computers can share a cable internet connection with a simple $30 router.

Ok... 2 computers, 2 broadband connections, share the bandwith for an overall faster upload/download.

Like most cable is capped at 1.5mbps/256kbps, but could you get two accounts and make that double?
Another example is if I had 1500/768 ADSL, and my bro in law got cable, and the computers were networked, would we be able to share the bandwith between the two of us?

I'm moving in with my bro in law and sister soon, and just playing with ideas in my head about how to have a nice, fast, internet connection.

Yes, its technically possible but the software to do it is really expensive and not worth it. If you have cable and are a normal home user, you would be hard pressed to max it out anyway on the download side.
