paging file

On startup I get a pop up window, about how my paging file is too small..windows created a temporary one....i need to increase it to recommended size etc.... I tried increasing the size to 800-900 MB. I restart, get the same message. The changes just dont seem to stick?! I am running win2k. 512 MB or RAM. Any ideas? Thanks in advance........

My guess is that you have a program starting up on bootup that is corrupt and is eating up all the memory. With 512 MB, you should really never see that error message.
