Jesus' brother

I read a newspaper article today about the burial box of Jesus' brother, James.

Jesus had a brother?

Sorry for my ignorance people.

Hey Karen, good to see you post up in here. Yes, Jesus actually had several brothers and even sisters.

Quote:
Mat 13:55 Is not this the carpenter's son? Is not his mother called Mary? And his brothers, James and Joses and Simon and Judas,
Mat 13:56 and his sisters, are they not all with us? Then from where does this man have all these things?
As for the box, the jury is still out on it. Even though the date and place of the burial box leans toward it maybe being the actual brother of Jesus, the names of Jesus, Joseph and James were very common back then in that area of the world. So the is speculation that it could belong to almost anyone. Regardless, it is a very good historical find.

Actually that is a Catholic teaching that I personally don't believe in. The "immaculate conception" is the doctrine that the Virgin Mary was conceived without original sin. Jesus is the only person to be born without sin. Every other person ever born was born in sin and that includes Mary.

The verse says ...thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And then it goes on to say ...Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God.

No where does it say that she was without sin, to me it is a false teaching within the Catholic Church. This is one of the main reasons the Catholic Church holds Mary in such high esteem.

I bet you weren't expecting a long explanation like that were you?

You've never heard of the NunBun?

I would have just eaten her and gone about my day. But that's just me.

That is some funny stuff. I have never seen that before. I am with you, I would have eaten it and thought nothing of it.
