Post Worldview Apologetics

A "worldview" is a set of presuppositions, which we hold conciously or subconsciously, about the basic make-up of our world, life, the universe and everything else....

Everyone has some sort of worldview whether they are aware of it or not. Thw worldview continuum begins with Theism and flows down to Atheism.

First, turn to Acts 17 in la biblia and read up on Paul's message on Mars Hill. Keep in mind that Paul was speaking to the theolgists and "Smart people" of Athens...try to see how Paul is relaying a message involving his own worldview based on the way the life of Jesus has effected Him.

Now, in order to discover your own personal worldview, which can help you evangelize, ask yourself how you would answer these 7 Basic Worldview Questions.....( See THE UNIVERSE NEXT DOOR by James Sire)

1. What is PRIME (ultimate) reality, the base core of all reality?
Paul would say, as most Christians believe, that God is Prime, He is Sovereign, our Creator, Judge, etc.

2. What is the Nature of External reality?
Creation explains external reality as material (materialistic) and Temporal (our temporary existence)

3. What IS a Human Being?
Imago Dei-Made in the image of God....we are his "Offspring" according to Paul....Human Beings are rational, moral, creative, social, spiritual...

4. What happens to a person at Death?
Paul preaches on Resurrection, Transformation and Judgement....will you go to Heaven or Hell?

5. Why is it possible to know anything?
God gave us intelligence and the capacity to think so that we might seek Him out, and find some form of meaning in our lives here on Earth....or you may formulate your own belief and why we know things.....(shaping your worldview)

6. How do we know what is right and wrong?
Ethics and morality......The holiness of God is the basis of morality....He gave us a conscience.....our ethics are shaped by our culture and influences (once again, shaping your personal worldview)

7. What is the meaning of human history?
The Creative and Redemptive purposes of God: Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. The resurrection of Jesus is the crucial eveidence of God's existence, nature and the truth of Christian teaching.....as He informs us in la biblia

When you discover your own personal answers to all of these questions, then you will begin to discover just exactly what your own personal worldview is, and how Christianity has helped shape and define your perspective. As a Christian, you have a story to share with the rest of the world, and having a solid, evangelical worldview will help you share your message.
