A little reassurance for everyone!
Last week we were at hospice center in Maryland to spend my grandmothers last days. For those who don't know, a hospice center is for they dieing. It is there to comfort you in your last days and to provide support for the families.
While we were there we were talking to the nurses who are with these dieing people everyday. They told us many stories.
There was a dieing man in room 2 one time. In room 1 & 3 there was a lady in each room. The man was like my grandmother and could not communicate at all during his last days. Like many families do, his wife was talking to him and telling him that it was ok to go. That it was ok to leave this earthly life and pass on to the gates of heaven.
After saying this the man spoke to his wife for the first time in days.
He said " I am trying, but there are two ladies in front of me who will not let me skip to the front of the line."
These were the only words he said.
Both women passed away and then this man passed shortly after.
Hearing a story like this gave me chills but it also reassured me that my faith is real. That there is something worth waiting for.
