I guess med school needs to include these things out of fairness:

This wasn't mentioned in the clip.

I was expressing my distaste for where most of the arguments for "creationism" end up.

I did take a little time and listen to the whole clip. I'll admit, I agreed with a lot of what they said. If what they are saying is correct. Then I'd say the study of philosophy is missing from a lot university students and teachers. I went to a liberal arts college and philosophy was a required course. It may be true that technical university do not require students to take philosophy.

If what they are saying is true, then scientist ignorance of philosophy is hampering the study of science as a whole.

Whenever the evolution vs. creation in grade school debate comes up, I never hear people say add philosophy to the curriculum. Science should always speak to it's limitations in understand a giving phenomenon. In my opinion science should never be treated or regard as a religion. Something out of nothing is not good science.

I think every science-based course I ever took, grade school through college, always made a point to show the limitations of science, contrast the concepts ofevidence vs proof, etc.

Except for social sciences. They are big on philosophy and fuzzyness, on empathy as a resource, things like that.

Which is probably why most of them are extremely lame and some downright silly. They like to set assumptions to work under without questioning the assumptions, which turns out to be mental masturbation looking for a publisher. I see no need to add that crap to science, although logic is a substitute for lower math (in Texas at least) and that is fine.

Here's an interesting article about pro-evolutionists trying to stop free-speech by taking Expelled to court. The show's Executive Producer, Walt Ruloff said,

"It is interesting that these efforts are made less than 10 days before the movie debuts and involve those who continually seek to thwart open debate. While bullying tactics may work against some individuals who are trying to explore the origins of life, it will not work against us. We certainly will not allow a small group of self-appointed gatekeepers to infringe our rights of free speech and our obligation to expose them for what they are -- namely, intellectual thugs unwilling to accept any dissent from Darwinian orthodoxy."
