Are all sins measured the same?

I mean, do all sins equal the same severity?

For instance: Oh, he sinned! (minus 2 points for whatever sin)

or

Oh, he sinned!! (Subtract this many points for this sin_______)

I know it's not on a point basis, just for sake of conversation.

Are there more important sins, or what?

Basically, is a sin, just a sin, no matter which one?

The way I look at it is, a sin is a sin in God's eye. we all sin, we're all equal. I don't think He keeps a tally, but if you are truely sorry for your sins, if you ask for forgivenes, and if you accept Jesus as your Savior. Then all your sins are forgiven. When He forgives, He forgets. Something that we, as mortals can't comprehend.

So, you're either under sinner, or forgiven.

This is just the way I look at it...

In God's eyes every sin is equal, in the world's eyes every sin carries different weight.

In God's eyes we have all sinned, and it only takes one sin to be a sinner.

I hope this helps!

i disagree. the wages of sin is death, therefore the outcome is equal, but i do not beleive that all sin is equal. if that was the case then why is there 1 unforgivable sin.
even in the old testament there was different levels of sin. that is why there was the book of Levit. to show the diff sacrifices for the diff sin. just my opinion, but i could be wrong. hey it wouldn't be the first time.

All sin's can be forgiven except blasphemy of the holy spirit. I don't think all sin's are judged as the same. I used to think that way, before I really read the bible.

John,

It is quite clear in scripture that there are different levels of judgment, and likely different levels in hell (parable of the talents). I was simply saying on a much simpler basis, that God views us all as sinner, "for all have sinned". We are on equal ground as sinners, needing salvation which only Christ can provide. The same goes for us as Believers, we all have equal access and the same power within. What we do or do not do with that is what matters!
