Touchy subject...bet this post turns out to be a trip.

Personally, I believe in the Christian God, Jesus, etc....but not in the modern incarnation of the church....that is as close to atheist as I am. Not that I hate church, quite the opposite really. I just don't like the ideas of forcing religion on people and religion for the masses.

That was my major problem with church too. I happened to luck out and find one, none denominational.

Put me on the list.

There is no proof that the bible wasn't some wild fictional book written by one of the best writers of his time. Its amazing to me how people can be so attached to a book. Does it mean that 2 billion Chinese are going to "hell" for worshiping an idol?

Another interesting aspect of different faiths is how they all interpret the same book differently. Which faith is correct? Catholics believe that birth control is a sin. Some faiths don't believe that. Which one is right?

Its just easier to believe that we all started from a puddle of goo and evolved from there. At least there is evidence to support that.

I agree. The problem is people put their own rules to the bible(just dealing with christianity). The big idea is to believe and have faith. This to me turns into nothing but confusion. My grandma is a big time bible thumper, no cussing, gives money, etc, basicly a perfect christian. But she's divorced 7 times(because she either is tired of the guy, doesnt get along, etc). So they aren't scriptural. She believes that the verse saying you shouldn't be alone gives her the right to ingore the one on divorce.

To much of a cluster fuck to me.

ExChristian, what does that make me?
