Any leads in Midland/Odessa?

Hey guys,

My Wife is in school in Midland for the next 10-22mths (depending on where her clinical rotations end up).

We had hoped to make it work with me staying in San Antonio, but it's a little tougher than expected.

Anyone have any leads in Midland?

I'm mechanically inclined, well trained in MS Office (especially excel), good MIG Welder w/ a few years experience w/thin gauge steel, 6-7 years experience in commercial construction estimating and project management for a distributor, 1-2yrs of that was sales also.

Any info would be appreciated. If I can find something comparable to what I'm making here, I'd consider it.

Thanks,
SQ

She's going to Texas Tech's Physician Assistant Program (Masters in Allied Health). Tech has their program on the Midland College campus. It's a separate building, but still a part of the campus.

She'll be there until August for sure, doing her didactic (classroom/bookwork) studies. From there, she'll have 12 months of clinicals. Her clinicals will hopefully be in Temple, which is much closer to home. However, she could end up staying in Midland, or even being moved further out to El Paso, Lubbock, Amarillo, Abilene, etc. She's hoping she'll do her clinical rotations in Temple or San Angelo (the two locations closest to home). The good thing about her clinicals is that once she is in a location, she stays put. There wont be any more traveling until she takes the PANCE exam, which will only be a week.

As for oilfields - what's the best way to get into a job in Midland? I checked out rigzone, but it's mostly gulf coast. They also seem to require experience. Although I have no experience with Oilfield related work, I'm pretty sure I am more than capable.

Thanks for the heads up.

Halliburton

We have a yard in Odessa. I just searched the www.Halliburton.jobs site and found 5 pages of opennings in Odessa.

When she is done with school you could transfer back here. Alvarado or Carrollton
If you are interested and need any help let me know.
