whats sad is that, just like you, your children most likely have no people skills and are dumb. they lack determination, or the ability of getting, and doing a job. so instead they will end up like u racing cars and living in what u may like to call tejas(mexican't) but to most know as texas, piece of shit mequitoville(low life) Mesquite.

Get the fuck outta here d-bag.

If you want to get into a pissing contest about employment there's always someone better. When I was 18 I was already interning at a huge engineering company...because I knew people in the right places, and made good grades. It has very little to do with actual people skills, it's more about getting to know the right people.

EDIT: and omega, have your kids asked any friends that have jobs to alert them of an opening? that's how i got my first job at Subway...haha.

Anyways,

Have your kids apply at some restaurants... they will probably have to host at that age, but it will begin to teach them customer service and how to deal under pressure.

amazing...you finished a year at a junior college. Musta been a killer...especially in business arts. Try a major (wait you still have a while before you get to even declare a major) where Cal 3 is a pre-requisite to the real math classes.Once again if you want to get into a pissing contest...I graduated number 1, had a real job immediately out of HS in the field of my declared major, Made money just by simply going to college (scholarships beyond tuition and fees), and still work for that company at a high pay rate, my masters degree will also be paid for by said company. And once again, the main thing that got me the job was knowing the right people and networking. Most kids dont network at the age of 17. I was lucky enough to have a great mentor as a kid who tought me the importance of knowing people. And things just just seemed to fall into place somehow. I'm not saying it was all luck, but I know alot of people out there that probably deserve it more than me...but who am I to judge that. It's not that easy to find a job in such a large town with so many students. Especially without work experience.

All you did with that awesome post of yours, is show everyone here that you have a hard time holdiong a job, or get bored easily. Both of which, are traits of the type of person you were just bitching about. Not to mention, you know nothing about the kids in question. You're just bitter about your lack of success in life, and taking it out on others.

Have they tired the smaller photolabs? one of the best jobs I had when I was younger and even if they start at a target or walgreens you can get experience for a real lab down the line. Not bad pay either for the amount of work.

You are not free whose liberty is won by the rigour of other, more righteous souls. Your are merely protected. Your freedom is parasitic, you suck the honourable man dry and offer nothing in return. You who have enjoyed freedom, who have done nothing to earn it, your time has come. This time you will stand alone and fight for yourselves. Now you will pay for your freedom in the currency of honest toil and human blood."

movie theaters are your friend. that was my first job, and i held that for about two years. you can learn all kinds of things there. money handling, (sp?) customer service, BEING ON TIME. the on time thing comes if you get into projection. usually people at theaters are around the same age, so when i worked there all the people i worked with were really cool. so i had a lot of fun there.

edit: you said 16 year old...pics?

I've got a few friends who have worked at movie theaters and they've all hated it. I guess it gives you perspective, but there are better choices out there.

Suggest retail to them; it will force them to interact with people, especially people that are not their age, and will teach them a lot about the way things actually work. That and they'll hate it so much by the end of their tenure that it will make them want to do something with their life if they didn't before.

well i won't disagree that there are better choices but it was a good one for me i guess. the one i worked at was not a large/corprate chain. it was independantly owned with a total of about 20 people including managers. i actually enjoyed it. if they would pay me more, i'd go back to work there in a heartbeat.

Check places in the mall. I know they hire at 16 and up. When does your son turn 18? If soon.. He could apply at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Or he could cut lawns.... That's what my brother did when he was 15 and he made good money too. Your daughter could do some baby sitting for the kids that are younger and home for summer.

Good luck. It's great that they want to get a job and learn responsibility.

Wow, amazing accomplishments. I hope you don't call me out; I don't know how I'd defend myself. I'd certainly be an asshole to everyone with those kind of credentials. Fuck off and die you worthless piece of shit.

Fuck this guy. I am trying to be all Christian and stuff lately, but this guy is just a jerk.

I hope your kids can find something. I'm extremely ambitious, and it is HARD to find a job as a teenager.

Its not hard its just very competitive, especially now that colleges are out and all the college kids are coming back taking over the summer jobs. Tell them to hit up the day cares or summer camps thats the best place for a teen to get a job at now

By the way, that guy lists his stuff like he accomplished something fantastic haha

i would have them try out a/c change out or instalsl "duct runners"etc etc.
in the summer time a/c companies will grab teenagers in a heart beat for the shit work.
$9-$10hr
or go out of town a bit find a farmer who bails hay!!! "wow" i did that for a summer and it put some muscles on me and i think i grew 3 inches taller, got accused of doing steriods that summer of 1990.

i know the agony!
im trying to help my nephew find a job he is 17 though companies dont really want to hire at 17 because of insurance.
