People who have used Monster.com

How many of you actually got responses from companies after you applied for jobs on Monster.com? How long, on average, did it take for them to call you for an interview?

Well, at least I'm not alone here. I'm thinking that I'm either going to have to call the companies I want to work for and speak to someone in their HR Department because I'm getting tired of waiting on calls.

LOL, I've had my resume on there for awhile, and all I get are offers that are completely outside of my field and require a 4 year degree, which it clearly states I do not posess. Have to clear that junk of my email every week.

I applied for a job while I was still in Iraq and posted my resume so other employers could view it. I didn't get a call back from the company that I applied for, but I did get other offers; one that led to my current position. I'm still getting offers. All in my feild. I came back to the States making more than I did when I left doing basically the same thing.

I've used careerbuilder.com, and had quite a bit of success on the call backs. I didn't end up accepting any of the jobs they wanted me for, and I still get a call or an E-mail every once in a while.

I had my resume on a few of those sites and RIGHT after i posted i got a bunch of start-up companies, or sales jobs wanting to interview, but they were always an automated email. I also wasnt really interested in the jobs or companies, but after a few weeks of getting bombarded by shit, I never got anymore. Its all about connections and who you know, these sites for the most part arent any good. Good Luck man.

Well, I do have some good news to report. I applied for a Accounting Analyst job with Sears Corporate division and they sent me an E-mail this morning requesting more information about myself, work/educational experience, etc. Salary range given was $40-50k so I'm pretty pumped about that. Should hear something beginning of next week!

I found my current job on careerbuilder. Still from 3 years ago I get calls and e-mails from insurance companies wanting to interview me as a seller. Yeah, I'm going to leave work early for an interview at a company I've never heard of.

Funny thing though, I had an ad on monster for over a month and received 13 resumes. Of these 13 only 3 were remotely close to being compatible for the job. Didn't end up hiring any of them though.

I posted an ad up here and within a week had more applicants than the month on Monster. That and nearly everyone from here was qualified. Needless to say any future openings will be listed here before we throw anything up on the web.
