Engineering internships?

I'm a Mechanical Engineering Technology major at Texas Tech with 96 hours so far.

I won't be graduating til May '07, but before I can do that, we have a summer internship requirement that must be fufilled.

I know it's only August, and next summer is still 9 months away, but I want to start looking now.

Would any of you happen to work for a firm/employer that takes engineering interns?

You are probably gonna look more for a co-op position. I'm at a large place called Raytheon, and since i just graduated highschool, they consider me an intern. If you've completed your first year of college, then you're considered a co-op. Try and apply for a co-op here at raytheon. The pay is great, and they treat you very well. I think you can apply at rayjobs.com. You USUALLY only have to work summers, and must take a semester off to work. The largest acceptor of interns/co-ops that i know is in Mckinney, however the Spring creek raytheon also has a few co-ops. The only requirements i can think of off the top of my head are that you're attenting an abet accredited engineering program, and that you have at least a 3.5.

Bump again. Anyone know of anything?

Up to 113 hours completed. I have experience with Autodesk Inventor, TK Solver, and I'm learning Cosmos Works FEA this semester... Have taken classes ranging from Process Automation to HVAC System Design.

Looking for ANY engineering firms/companies I can get in contact with about an internship.

I'll buy beer for anyone who can help me here.

Chaparral steel, Midlothian, Texas

972-299-5212 ask for Duff Hunt, he's VP of engineering. Tell him Charlie Daubitz ask you to call.

Chaparral web page

I talked to Mr. Hunt, he's expecting your call.
