Wow. That's cool. I didn't know the USPS had "tests". What is the quiz over, the full DMM/IMM?

USPS is a good gig ! I have been in about 25 different Processing and Distribution Centers nationwide in the past year just about any position you get in there, including custodian, is a damn good one. They never lay anyone off, and it is almost impossible to get fired !

Congrats GRAYHORSE,
They are hurting for carriers and i am not a 100% sure but there start pay is something like $15 or $16 an hour. If you have to mail anything back to them my advice is to always send it Certified mail, so you will have proof that you sent them any paper work and of course someone has to sign for it before it is delivered. I had a friend afew years back that just sent them paperwork and did not certified the letter he was sending and weeks whent by so he called personnel to see why they were taking so long in responding and they said they never recieved anything so they ending passing him up for the job.

They start at 17.80/hr.
My brother makes 20.80/hr after 3 years.
My dad makes like 23/hr at about 20yrs. Overtime is where they make the money though.

I was going to wear my suit but my brother says that there will be a lot of ppl there and i will look like a dumbass if i wear a suit and that its not like that. He said he wore jeans. haha
Is it not a formal interview? Maybe i'll just wear a shirt and tie.

When i had my interview i saw many people wearing jeans and maybe 2 or 3 people had on a tie, when i had my interview i was working as a TE Carrier and had my uniform on, they said that it was ok with them since they pulled me from work on short notice. It is up to you what you want to wear, i would wear at least some nice slacks and dress shirt with a tie it will show that you are serious and want the job, just my 2 cents.

Good luck

If they give you the forms to go take the drug test it basicly means you got the job.

Ive applied in Coppell for a Driver Job i scored a 95 on the score so im on the list atleast. And i applied for the Ft.Worth Carrier but havent recieved anything for the testing yet...My dad has been @ the Post Office for 23yrs also he's a Station Manager in Wichita Falls,Tx but was in Fort Worth for 20yrs before then. They do make good $$ but overall the most important part is there retirement and shit like that.

And the funny part about taking that drug test my dad said that nearly half the dumbass fail it...can you believe that? lol

I took it in Dallas. Cobra 2885 is good about posting the job test on here.

Search for the USPS web site and look at employment for different cities.

Well, i misunderstood the military points thing. Being a veteran i signed up for the extra 5 points. When i went in for the interview they said i can only qualify for the points if i was disabled or in War.

Soooo, they dropped me down the list and got no interview!

This is the only civil service test i have taken that doesnt give 5 points to all veterans.

GRAYHORSE,
So how did the interview go? Did you get to choose what station you wanted to work at?
