Boeing lay-off---need help with job search

I was laid-off at Boeing after working for over 8 years. I have put in over 85 resumes/online applications in 4 weeks and no one has called back. I even tried going door to door near the Alliance Airport area but everyone referred me to their online job search website. I was making $17.88/hr and will take $13/hr (I will take less for decent employment!). If anyone has any suggestions, just let me know...I do not have to stay in my field of work...airline industry sucks since 9/11...

pug.nose,
your are correct the airline industry sucks, i know because i worked part-time for the airline for 11 years, and my advice is be patient someone will hire you sooner or later.
I uselly post job openings that i happen to see either in the newspaper or some web-site and i always post in this forum so keep an eye out.

Agreed Aviation employment is scarce right now, I have been trying to get back in for some time now. I was laid off from Delta shortly after 911. I had no choice but to change careers for awhile. My advice is keep trying or look into contracting with the intent to go direct, I would do that but I have a family and a new house so I will stick with whats stable which is my current job I am unhappy with it but you gotta do what you gotta do. Good luck!
