Anyone know if their are any hiring? Jailers etc....

Detention Officer

Benefits

Life Insurance: 2 x annual salary

Medical Insurance: Paid by City for employees; family coverage available at group rates

Dental: Paid by City for employees; family coverage available at group rates

Vacation: 10 days per year (15 days after 5 years of service, 20 days after 15 years of service, 25 days after 25 years of service)

Salary

Starting Salary: $2077 per month ($24,924 annually)

After 6 month probationary period: $2180 per month ($26,160 annually)

Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent

Type 20 wpm (testing required)

Able to search prisoners, as needed

Able to work all shifts

College Transcript (all college transcripts must be originals or certified copies)

Birth Certificate (original or certified copy)

Marriage license or licenses (original, if applicable)

Divorce decree or decrees (original, if applicable)

FORM DD-214 - Military Separation Report (original, if applicable)

Certificates of Police Training (if applicable)

Personal History Questionnaire (found in packet)

Recent full-face photograph (attached to last page of Personal History Questionnaire)

Not sure how far away it is for you but Tarrant County is hiring starting out at $14.60 an hour.

Plano PD tests on the 10th of August. They start at like 43-45k a year. Go to their site and DL the packet.

yeah good start in pay, but you have to have alot of college hours on top of the academy.

But make no mistake, for FWPD you have to do a lot more to get in that have a high school diploma.

Yes, alot of Police Dept's are starting to make this a requierment and you must have some college hours, I remember when Irving, Tx Police and DFW Airport Police did not require any college hours and now you must have at least 30 college hours just to take the test... from what my friend tells me who is a Police Officer in El Paso, Tx is that soon they will require you to have a Degree.

My brother is a FWPD officer w/ just HS diploma, just went down too the test..they called him 4mths later and he was in the academy for about 7mths all together if i remember right started out w/ class of 30 or so ended up graduating w/ 15.


He love's working for FW makes me want to go down there he makes a shit load of $$ off his side jobs.
