Another Iraq job opportunity

I'm not going for this position, but thought I would pass it on

Position working on communications(radio/voice/networking) in support of Dept of State contract in Iraq. Company issues all gear and both 9mm and M4 to each person (Sounds like my kind of job). Military experience is a huge plus. Total comp = 90k

ummm...anytime you are issued that shit, you better be...

1. In the military
2. Getting more compensation then that.
3. Be security (paid to shoot people)

IMO, issuance of those arms indicates traveling around the theater. As a civilian this is not usually a good thing. Civilian/DOD contractors that are issued weapons and doing comms sounds like a bad mix to me.

What is the company?

Take care

I agree for all the same reasons you listed. Its for communications support for the security detachment, methinks there may be more security than communications going on.

For someone with no job or a 30k a year job this may be a great thing. Since I make almost that much to work from a home office I told them I would pass

yes on both, tax free depends on you being gone a set number of days in a year. If you leave mid year it is not tax free

its 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day. I would rather be busy than have time to sit around and think. Live in a hotel.

true ceyko. I'd don't mind pulling a trigger for a living but residing in an unsecured facility isn't worth any amount of money.

It is tax free for the first 80K and you must be out of the US for 330 days out of 365. If you leave mid-year that is ok, it starts from the day you leave and not a calendar year.

These two topics explain both.

Possibly.

1. If you feel secure in a couple of Marines stopping a VBIED, so be it.
2. How do you know you'll be in one of those hotels?
3. You are still traveling around the city as a civilian.

All that for 90K a year. You can get equal pay doing other work and be on a base.

Like I said, you all do what you want. I just hate the beheading stuff and don't want to hear about it happening to anyone I know...even if it is just "know from online."

I actually know someone who works for Dyncorp, he turned down a couple positions outside the counrty. They do alot of stuff for the government, so therefore...thier a big target. Just be careful if you go and do this...think long and hard about it.
