Tips on purchasing my first detail materials?

Id like to learn to do auto detailing (washing/waxing/buffing/etc) on my own now that I have another classic car. Is there an auto detailing forum I can go to to learn the in's and out's of auto detailing as a newb? Any tips or suggestions on the first set of materials I should buy?

I'd be more than happy to work with you. If you'd like to swing by the house, I can teach you everything you'd like to learn about your car, and how to keep it clean, and how to repair any damage that was there previous. There are also a few detailing sites out there. But if you're like me, you learn better with hands on experience rather than reading a forum.
