Mustang headlight cleaning

So i just did this, what a pain in the ass, I did all the stuff, but there is just so much grime burned on the lens its going to take forever, i should've start out with like 300 grit or something because i scrubbed and scrubbed and the clay just kept coming ( or whatever that residue is ). They do however look about 50x better, but I'm going to go over them again because its not up to quality control specs imo.

The question is:

How do you keep them looking good after you do all this mess? Is this something thats going to have to be done again in 40k miles or is there something I can do to preventive maintenance this shit.

THANKS

Depends on who you ask. Most people will tell you that what you're doing is wasting time and they will yellow and dull out again.

Ask me, and I'll tell you that none of my customers have ever complained about anything like this. Their headlights still look good

If you want them to keep from re-yellowing/fading, they must be (re)clearcoated..

The secret is to use brake fluid to clean them. That's it! A rag with brake fluid and they'll be nice and clear again. It's a secret I learned when I went to Mexico this summer. Just make sure not to get it on the paint cuz it will fuck it up......

It doesnt get them as clean as wet-sanding polishing and putting the headlight restore on there and it also doesnt stay clear as long.

That is a very harsh cover up. If you want to just cover up, it is safer to use tire shine.

NO NO NO, it should be DFWLS1's, CUMMINS, C6 VETTES.net

in about 8 months it will destroy the lenses, works great for a short period of time though.

I guess it works for a car if you're about to sell it

haha yes it would. It's good if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere, or on a vacation and you can't see shit.
