Nick is way too anal

Over the course of the last several weeks Nick has been detailing some of my cars. He has done a few and I have been very impressed with his work (to say the least as I am not easily impressed.) Anyway, I've always thought that I was really picky and a bit obsessive when it came to the condition of some of my cars. Relatively speaking, Nick has proved me wrong.

The latest car he's been working on is my '93 Cobra R. This car has 60.1 miles on it and I believe it is the finest of its kind in the world. Nick has probably spent 30 hours on it. Anyway, after he had done some of his undercarriage detailing, he summoned me to review his work. When I got under the lift and inspected the underside of the engine, I was shocked at what I saw. Nick had taken it upon himself to wax the oil pan!

Let's repeat that.

NICK WAXED THE OIL PAN!

I was going to wait until he was finished with all the cars before I posted my rave review. After he waxed oil pan, I could wait no longer.

I've read the posts from those who say they are as good or better than Nick. I've read the posts about how some folks are less expensive. I've read the posts about how much faster some others can complete a job. Now read this: I would not trust anyone else to detail my cars. Period.

If your car is your prize and you adhere to the axiom that you get what you pay for, Nick is the guy you want to call. In fact, you'll get more than you pay for and your expectations will likely be exceeded.

I've attached a picture of that oil pan. I've also posted a few more pictures of the R and Nick's work in the North Texas Nissan forum, under the NTN Car Collection - Pictures thread. Here's the link: https://www.dfwstangs.net/forums/show...eferrerid=5710

Thanks again Nick!

Rob.

LOL... He told me that he did that and I was freaking out. I didn't realize he took it upon himself to do that I thought that you had asked him to wax the oil pan. That car must look incredible after 30 hours of work on it!

dam thatís detailing..... awesome job!!!

nothing beats a little word to mouth and pride in your work to start up a successful business.

I paid $140 bucks to have someone detail my lightning which only took them a hour an half (I felt like that was a rip off and I could've done the same job myself) no way did they tape everything off so the wax wouldn't get everywhere and to protect the areas where the paint isn't so thick.

Jesus, Rob. I can't imagine what your detailing budget/bill is going to look like after your collection is all said and done.

30 hours on one car? How can you afford to stay in business, Nick?

Yes, I waxed the oil pan, along with the lower control arms, sway bar and a few other things
This car is never going to see any rain or mud puddles. In fact, I don't ever see this car leaving Rob's shop. It is going to stay indoors in a bubble, inside the 74 degree shop for a long, long time. So going a little overboard on this one is worth it. It will stay in this condition.

This isn't a $150 detail. Rob pay's me very well for the work I do. But he hasn't paid me for this one yet..........maybe he shouldn't of made a post about how happy he is before he wrote out the check

Thanks Rob! Glad you're happy.

Our washes take about that much time, add another couple of hours to work on the interior, and you would of had our complete detail that starts at about $150 for a small car(SUV's and larger trucks are a little more).
