Mold on plastic trim....

So, I got a florida car, and after talking to some friends this seems to be a common problem. Mold is dull and grey..basically looks like old crappy paint on my plastic trim. From what I've been told, a mild acid will take this stuff right off, but I'm concerned about discoloring the plastic (been recommended a water/bleach solution..and that idea scares me). Any suggestions for a safe and easy solution would be appreciated.

I'd like a crack at this if you don't get it. I got a new product called a high tech body sponge, and I've been wanting to try it out on some trim that was in bad shape. Give mea call and let me know what you decide to do.
