I'd like some recommendations as to what you guys' procedures are as well. Things like, at what step in the wash do you do the tires? I have asked before but nobody said that they use tire shine. I used to, but stopped, b/c it always overspayed onto my clean car.

When I used to hit all the car shows in my Mystic, I'd always use the Meguires tire shine liquid on a tire shine applicator. Worked great and lasted all week...smelled good too!

I like to use a product from Meguiar's called Hyper Dressing. You can dilute it to your desired shine. You can get a really good looking matte finish, all the way up to a high gloss. Spray on and walk away. Although, it is best if it sits overnight before driving. If you need to drive sooner, spray on then wipe off the excess with a dry cloth.

Mother's quick detailer works great...I have also used Meguire's detailer spray and both work fine...but I can't wait till that new spray comes out..the one nick was talking about...Meguire's 'insert name here' it sounds like a good product.

That turtle wax ice stuff is HORRIBLE.

You should try using something along the lines like Tropi-care or the professional products of the Meguiars line.

I know I'm going to hurt a lot of peoples feelings, but I tryed the Tropi-care Quick detailer and its just like using water with a orange smell

I actually switched from tropi-care to ICE

Brian what kind of ICE have you used? liquid or gel ?

Not going to hurt anyones feelings homie. That's why they are opinions!

When did you buy their QD? I know the did some improving...btw, it's never smelled like orange

I like testing out different products from time to time...usually I stay away from anything that has a turtle on it lol, but just tried some. I think it was the liquid stuff, and it was horrible. Left alot of streaks and residue.

The whole line of Tropi-care is awesome. Everything is simple and very easy to take off when using it correctly.

I bet if I cleaned up your car I'd change your mind again.

Don't get me worng the QD was the best I had tryed when I had the red cobra it worked perfect, but I got a black stang now and it left a lot of oily looking marks in the black pain that were hard to come off.

What I did like about it was that the QD bottle lasted me forever and I got the last bottle of QD about 6 months ago.

I used the liquid ICE with the aplicator they have and it wasn't hard at all to remove

I'm gonna have to agree with BadCompany V.P WS6 on this one. Although I don't use Tropicare products on a regular basis, they do make quality products. Much better than that stuff packaged with a turtle on board.

I'm be more inclined to believe that the product froze while you had it, or you got a bad bottle and just never noticed what was happening with the red car. Black shows everything, and if there was a problem with the product, it wouldn't of shown up as much with the red paint vs the black, so the problem could have been missed with the red paint.

I've haven't tried the ICE products from Turtle wax yet. But given my past experiences with this company, I don't think it would give me the results I am constantly looking for.

For tire shine I use Meguiar's gold class endurance high gloss.. it's a watered down gel type substance.

It stays on for quite a while compared to tire spray. I've done the tires on my car about 5 times and I still have 80% of the bottle left.

Brian what do you recomend to clean and shine the engine compartment to make it look brand new and shiny.

Is there some kind of spray that will do all the work ?

I make sure the car is cool and dry and cover up any electronics, just be smart about it. I lightly mist the engine, then take "X" ( I use CD2) degreaser and spray it down and dilute it more with water. I usually let it sit for about 10 mins and if I see stubborn areas, I take a brush to it. After its done I usually rinse it off making sure all the degreaser is gone. I sometimes take a leaf blower and dry it that way to get major puddles, then go back over everything with a spray bottle mixed (10:1) with my TC soap and a clean microfiber to get small areas.

To get the shiny look. I use CD2 as well, they don't have it on the shelves anymore but I did stock up. I'm sure you can dilute a foam spray on plastics and what not.

I've had very good results with this method and nothing has faded. Hope that helps...kinda in a hurry since I'm about to go to a meeting so if it doesn't make sense...I'll correct it later.

Mother Synthetic line of products is really good, their tire shine included same goes for their spray wax (very easy to use, nice in the summer to keep a good coat of wax on the car).
Mother Show Time Spray detailer is great, MG stuff is right behind it IMHO.

IMHO You can't go wrong with MG's or Mother's products.
