California Collision, Ft. Worth.
I had my 70 fastback painted and worked on there.
I think they did a pretty good job and at a reasonable price.

Luckey's

He picked up a 93 Toyota Landcruiser yesterday at lunch and I had it back at 3 today. He did an entire paintjob for 650.

He advertises a 299 job, quoted me 450 since it was a large vehicle. When it got there, he said it needed 2 fenders and the roof worked for another 200.

It looks superb. The bodyshop I normally use said they would not touch it for less than 1800.

972 221 8021 is their Lewisville number and 972 484 5825 Dallas.

That's good to know, the Ranger needs a paint job but I was never going to consider it. But at $300, might be worth it. I assume they do better work than a Maaco type place? I've heard nothing but bad things about their cheap ass job, mainly about the prep they do.

Good to hear some feedback on that place. The guy who owns/manages it is a pretty cool dude, I met with him one, but you never know till you hear it from someone.

There's a huge difference between a $650 paint job and a $1800 paint job. Nothing wrong with the cheap jobs as long as that's what you're looking for.

I don't know how they make money on the cheap jobs, much less do them so quickly. It can take a whole day or more just to sand and mask a car correctly, Not to mention the cost of paint and materials.

I manage a a shop and can tell you that it may look okay now, but in a few years it will turn bad. The difference in price is usually in the quality of materials used and the skill level of technicians. I can guarantee that since the car was painted so quickly using loq quality materials it will start peeling and fading shortly.

What about just for the beater though? (My Ranger) I would only really care about how it looks for the next 2 years tops, and the current paint has peel spots all over the hood and roof. Would a cheap job, $300 or 400-ish, stay good for at least 2 or 3 years? Or pm me a bottom line price your shop would quote, for a cheap, yet still good job if you don't mind.

I have to agree, i got my car painted at the shop Kenny works at and was very pleased with the work done.

Speaking of the old battle axe, is she still sitting in the back of the shop untouched?

The wrost thing you can to to a car outside of putting sugar in the gas tank is to put a cheap paint job on it. If oyu plan on selling it in 2 or 3 years, then it is not worth spending the money ot hae it painted. I'll put it to you like this. When you go to sell your truck, a good paint job might bring you a few extra hundred dollars. A bad paint job will cost you a few thousand in value. I almost never suggest a paint job unless it is something you plan on keeping for a very long time and can get your value out of it.

IF that's all you need, then you would be looking around 275-400 depending on what condition it is in.

Go to First Choice in Farmers Branch. Talk to Kevin. 972-484-9443. He did my rear bumper for 50 dollars and it look as good as new.

the main thing people don't realize is the cost of materials.. try and buy few rolls of sandpaper, sealer, primer, hardener, base color and clear----- (brand name)- and see what happens. You cant paint a car for $300 bucks unless you just hose it off and single stage it. Anyhow a bumper should run about $250.. Let me know if you need a good paint job.

HE is right. A gallon of clear with activator and reducer, my cost is about $400.
