I walk into Best Buy about once a month and end up telling the guys there about the new technology in the products they carry. I wouldn't trust those monkeys anywhere near my car with a roll of tint and a fistful of razorblades.

...and the next time I go in there and they try to sell me some $120 cables for my $120 HD-DVD player (that comes with a HDMI cable) I am going to punch them in the groin.

Which Best Buy do you usually go to, because my brother is a supervisor at the one here in Irving and the main car audio guy knows his shit. He installed my brother's stuff and mine, and did a hell of a job doing it.

thats unfortunate... can you notice the difference between the Huper and any other tint?

If people want to tint their car for visual enhancment any tint will work, I got the Huper because it makes my car considerably cooler than any other tint would. To me it's worth the price.

I'm sure your shop does it's fair share of limo tint installs, most people on the board like that shit. Whatever works.

You just have to sell it. $39 tint jobs are everywhere but there is a difference as you know.
Their demo with the heat lamp in it and different pieces of tint made a believer of me. From hot to no heat is pretty impressive.

I agree 100%, you aren't doing your customers any service by unrolling some limo tint on to their cars

What does that mean? There is nothing wrong with limo tint but higher quality tint in any shade lasts longer, holds its color longer(less fading), rejects heat better, has better adhesive (less peeling and bubbling) and is more optically clear than cheaper films. If Huper was made in limo or 20% I would have it for sure.

isn't most limo tint usually cheaper quality film? I'm not an expert, nor do I claim to be but I did work at Earmark for a while and was always told that the 'limo tint' is not usually associated with a quality film

why doesn't Huper offer a limo shade?

No, in fact Madico and other brands usually at least offer 35%, 20%, and 5-7% in each line of product. We mostly use their Onyx line and all shades are great. I don't know why Huper is not darker. It does usually get installed on higher end cars since it is expensive. Maybe the older people don't want dark tint.

I didn't know that, but have never heard of Madico. I am(or at least used to be) familiar with the 3M, LLumar, and Formula One tints

I think people that go with Huper want more performance out of the tint and would rather have better vision at night than just something dark, which is the reason for my post.

I often see, "what is the darkest I can tint my car?" threads, which to me actually reads: "I want limo if I can get away with it, and who can do it for the cheapest?" Once I saw the Huper demo I was sold. I don't want super dark tint that is almost impossible to see out of at night and still doesn't reject as much heat as the light shade of Huper does.

The "I want the darkest tint I can" crowd is usually the same crowd that will spend $1000s on stereo equipment (good for you of course ) and $1000s on mods to make their car faster or look better but for whatever reason won't spend $350 on window film that makes a tremendous difference in how hot their car gets in the Texas sun. Shit, my car has black leather and I don't even crack the windows and rarely(not never) use my windshield shades anymore on hot days since I got my tint installed. I just pop the sunroof open and I'm pretty much good to go... it's that good, as you know

As far as I'm concerned, my tint is my best mod for my car so far, until I get another chip anyway
