wheel clear coat

I bought a set of black bullets from wheel replicas, and now the clear coat is coming off the lips, it looks horrible, do you guys have any recomedations on safely removing the rest of it?? Wheel Replicas won't return my call Thanks

You going to have to completely strip them, which will lift the black paint also. Use "Aircraft stripper", it's a messy job. Use the black paint of your choice, but for clearcoat I'd recommend POR-15's Glisten PC, which is specifically for wheels.

have paul powder coat em. They'll last alot longer than paint anyway.

the number I have for Paul is 469-688-0837, if you live in the Garland, northeast Dallas, Richardson area ACE powdercoating (in Garland) has done work for me that was very nice....

was: wheel clear coat, now: etched VIN in rim

I bought a matching aluminum rim from a junk yard a few years back for spare, but it has the prev. car's VIN etched in it - right smack in the middle of the outside of it.

Is there any way that'll ever come off? Polish? Strip and re-lacquer?
