Why Obama is a post turtle

While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old Texas rancher, whose
hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a
conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to
Obama and his bid to be our President.

The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle'.'

Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post
turtle' was.

The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you
come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post
turtle'.'

The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he
continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he
doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up
there, and you just wonder what kind of a dumb ass put him up there to
begin with.'

The only point that I'm trying to make is that someone is going to have to pay for the military operations. That is all. Expound upon what I'm saying in your best Limbaughesce tirade but the fact is, I never said what you are insinuating.

That's not what I got. What I thought he was insinuating is that while maybe the Democrats would impose higher taxes if Obama gets elected (that's what you were insinuation, right?), McCain would actually cost us plenty to continue our military presence in Iraq if he gets elected.

In short:

Cost of the war in Iraq > cost of these taxes that you claim the Democrats would bring

But I'm no political expert, so I'm out! Just saying what I got from Andrew's post, and that I don't think he was saying they would raise taxes to fund the war.

Yeah, in the grand scheme of things. And for the record, it's not what I 'claim'. The increases WILL happen if he gets elected.

However, it's been said that the middle class (that's you and I) would be paying an extra $700/MONTH in income taxes to fight poverty world wide. Will you willingly let go of an extra $700/MONTH?

I don't see my taxes going up an additional $700/month to pay for the war.

Ha! If you believe that Obama getting elected is going to cost us $700/month more in taxes, you're absolutely off your rocker.

Sounds like some scare tactic propaganda to me.

Not as high as the $700/month I originally read, but damn close.

61% tax increase. Yeah, it's all propaganda.... Google it. There's a plethora of information out there to back up what I said.

Dude, come on. Seriously.

That was a bill introduced by a Republican and then picked apart in an article on a conservative Republican website. Like I said, propaganda.

As I said, I'm no expert on politics, so I have no intention of getting into a debate about politics.

But $700 a month increase in taxes? No way.

Is that your non-expert opinion?
Where do you think the money for all that "change" is going to come from?

I'd prefer a 0% raise in my monthly income taxes. If Obama's "cause" costs me %0.0001 more, fuck him, and fuck the "solving world poverty" shit that he supports.

Last estimate was that altogether his social programs would cost about $400 billion dollars annually. The war in Iraq has cost an estimated $500 billion to this point (this is according to a leftist leaning website).

So?

All I said is that Obama in office does not equal $700/month increase in our taxes.

I'm not even voting. I'm not getting into any political debates. Go ahead with y'alls bad selves! lol

“To translate this point into language everyone can understand: if you have an income of $104,000 or more, the plan will cause your tax bill to go up at least an additional $5,300 a year; if you have an income of $62,000 or more, the plan will cause your tax bill to go up at least $2,300 a year. This is on top of the $2,300 increase already assumed by the failure to extend current tax policy.” (emphasis added)

Fuck all that noise. I've been dicked on taxes the last 4 years anyway....not like I want to pay ANOTHER 3+ thou a year.

Although it could be worse I guess, the UK has pretty high taxes, but that of course raises the average pay over there too. And their money is worth more.

You would have those extra taxes AND the cost of the war. Don't bullshit yourself...that war isn't going anywhere. The egotistical blackman can't do shit to stop the war until we're done. It's all lip-service, like the rest of his campaign.

Really? So, I guess the education system should just find that tree money grows on, and pay for schools that way....

That's not the only thing it pays for, but that's where school funding comes from.

I *think* it's $700 a month increase ($8400 a year), for combined household incomes of $120k. Barry admits to this, so it's no secret, nor should it be a surprise. Of course he flip-flops so much (and will stand up for nothing), that it may change.
