The Dress

Jennifer's wedding day was fast approaching. Nothing could dampen her
excitement-- not even her parent's nasty divorce.

Her mother had found the PERFECT dress to wear and would be the
best-dressed mother-of-the-bride ever!

A week later, Jennifer was horrified to learn that her father's new
young wife had bought the exact same dress! Jennifer asked her to
exchange it, but she refused. "Absolutely not. I look like a million
bucks in this dress, and I'm wearing it," she replied.

Jennifer told her mother who graciously said, "Never mind sweetheart.
I'll get another dress. After all, it's your special day."

A few days later, they went shopping and did find another gorgeous
dress. When they stopped for lunch, Jennifer asked her mother, "Aren't you
going to return the other dress? You really d don't h have another occasion
where you could wear it."

Her mother just smiled and replied, "Of course I do, dear. I'm wearing
it to the rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding!"

I was so confused by this that I emailed it to my girlfriend.

Her response:

While i don't think its particularly funny, I do understand the whole "one-upping" concept as mildly humorous.
Even chicks aren't laughing.

Ban him from the jokes forum!

OK, the wife laughed out loud.

Translation:

The new wife wanted to be a snit about the dress. The ex wife wears it the night before, rendering the new wife without a dress for the actual wedding since women actually care if someone else wears the same thing that they wear.

So it's funny because the new wife will have to find a new dress and the ex wife will have, in effect, bitch slapped her.

You're right, this is a car forum, but with under 400 posts, you probably didnt realize that 99% of the jokes here, arent car related.

BTW, your car has all that done and only runs a 14.6 ????
Maybe cars isnt your thing. .....

That probably means your chick is a tom-boy and would prefer working on cars than being a woman.

LOL! Hardly. But I'm not going to complain if she wants to come in the garage and help build a car.

Are you really getting defensive over a shitty joke on the internet?

Oh Im not getting defensive, I believe the joke bothered you enough to take the time to read it to your girlfriend. Im just sorry that you didnt understand it.

Not all jokes you read are going to be the ones you fall out of your chair laughing at. Some find them funny, some dont.

the site is 99% male though.

hahaaaa nice, maybe cars aren't my "thing" but they are my hobby. nobody is mad at you for being a little bit of a fruit cake, just makin fun of the joke. I'm sure it's a great joke and i'm sure you've posted some good ones that apply more to the audience that is reading them.

I think you'd be surprised to know that this website is about 80-85% male. Hell, theres people Ive chatted with back and forth, to later find out they were females.

I understand what you're saying though and no hard feeling about my comment about your hobby, I was just aggravated at the time. Ive posted a lot better jokes before, and I was just posting another one because at the time of me posting it, there were only about 3 other jokes.

I'll try harder next time...........lol.
