Kick ass dude! 10:40/mile.

Believe me, those 5+ miles did ya' good. You will notice a huge change in your 3 miler next week. Count on it.

Damn AL!

Good job, I jogged a 3 miler in 22:30 today (should have pushed it below 21 minutes, but I had a full workout and more cardio later). Then I proceeded to do a leg killer workout (I know tomorrow is gonna be hell ) and about 3 miles in 20 minutes on the rowing machine (I love that thing now, it's fun to be rowing and someone gets on the one next to you and tries to pace you but gets off in about 5 minutes, makes you feel good; not trying to brag b/c I want to be doing 60 minute intervals soon )

I did my legs yesterday and they are pretty damn sore already, I been taking it easy on the squat since one of my tendons is hurting in my left knee, i think it is because of me playing football for the past several months. I quit squats for a while because it was sore but here recently I been doing them and slowly increasing the weight back up to where I used to be.

Squats:
205X11 reps
215X9
225X7
235X6
245X3

Next week I'm going to shoot for one more rep on each of those then the next week I'll bump all the weights by 10 pounds and start off my first set with 10 reps.

It has worked pretty good so far. I won't be happy until I can do 275 for about 10 reps though!!!!

Way to go Al!

I'm pretty proud of myself too. I ran 1.25 miles in 12 minutes yesterday. I was dying afterwards but I did it. I wish I could run that fast for 5 miles. Maybe one day.

You'd better be careful on you knees. That's why I can't work my thighs because of the slight tear I got in my cartilage and sprain on the tendons of my right knee.

I'm not doing any (presses or extensions) leg excercises for a year. (calf only)

And I'm not really trying to bulk up anymore so I don't look like a popsicle. (big on top w/ two small sticks)

Dang, pretty good, how old are you, BF%, weight, amount of cardio you do per day? Any reason why you do run so well (ie. training, actual races, etc.?)

Wait... I'm guessing you were marines?

I'm guessing he weighs about 140 lbs., he drives a Focus too so he can't be too big of a guy.

I'll get down there so i can run that fast one of these days, it will just take some time.

I hear you on the knees JC, it is just sore tendons and stuff from all the lateral movements on football cleats. It is usually only bad right after I run one of those long runs or during my first set or two of squats.

From what my Doc told me, thats how it starts. And I can look back on it and say "YUP". I used to run alot of miles (even when I got out of the ARMY) and I had to stop because my knees would hurt. So I switched to squatting. Then one day I went to play some B-ball and bam! Hurt like an AbecX

hmm. I been running 1.5 miles now every couple of days. Doing 6 mph now on the tread mill. I think I can go farther, but right now its a mental thing. I set myself up at the beginning for a distance, and right before I get to it, my thoughts start thinking "Its almost over now". Then, it feels like I've been running all day and I just HAVE to stop.

Not to mention general boredom.

My knees get kinda sore the next day, and lately, my middle back has been kinda achey. I personally think its from lack of stretching and sitting on my ass the rest of the day at a computer.

5K would be 3.1 miles, but who is counting.
