ahhh... tomorrow I finish up my first week back after a pretty lengthy hiatus... I'm one SORE sonuvabitch right now!

I hear you. I just started back working out after around 12 years off I am very sore. I am also very weak. I used to do reps with 315 on the bench. I can now barely lift 225 once I sure hope this improves.

it'll get better quickly... muscle memory is a great thing!

Everything else happens so slowly in the lifting game that muscle sorenes is just about the only immediate evidence that the hard work is paying off. It definitely is a "good" pain.

Don't you love that feelings when you lay down and you have to arch your back because it hurts so damn bad. Then you finally ease it on down and it's bliss.

That kind of back pain isn't all that good. You should consider using a weight belt or take a good look at your form.
