legs?????

Anyone care to share experiences with their leg workouts? I have really benn hitting my legs hard for the last 5-6 weeks and I think it is my favorite workout now. What can I do to help from feeling like total shit though everytime I do squats/deadlifts/legpress? Does this mean I have low blood suger or not drinking enough water or something?

it just means you're doing it right!

your leg muscles are the largest in your body, and when you do a heavy leg workout, they soak up lots of blood... and that takes blood from other areas of the body... so you get light headed and naseous. sipping on some Gatoraide might help... one thing that helps to keep you from throwing up is to lay on your back with your legs up high like against a wall or something...

it only gets worse as your leg muscles get bigger... learn to love it I guess!

I get a little nausea, but my legs are still pretty small... lots of really big guys say they didn't have a good squat session if they didn't puke.

leg workouts are what seperate the big guys from the little ones...

Yeah it makes me feel like I'm going deaf and my teeth start to tingle. Kind of hard to explain, but the next day my legs feel nice and dead. It seems to be mostly during/after squats. I thought maybe there was a way to help prevent it because I don't want to just pass out and puke on myself in front of everyone.

legs

Ditto to forrest

If you don't feel like your going to throw up and have to stumble to your car, your not working them hard enough.

you'll come to a point where you're addicted to the feeling... that wonderful sensation of going deaf and not being able to see...

If it takes you less than half an hour to get from the rack to your car when you're finished, you didn't work hard enough.

If you can walk fairly normally the next day, you didn't work hard enough.

If you can focus through the spots to write your name, do another set.

If you can talk without slurring, do another set.

Sounds like your doing things pretty good there. I'd drop the legpress's personally, and concentrate on more weight on the squats. Then once your done, do deadlifts till you cant possibly do any more.

My favorite part would be how my legs would give out when I stepped off the curb. How embarrassing.

Or your hands shakes and you have to concentrate to lift a glass of water to your mouth.

The 24 Hour I go to is two stories... I've had to use the elevator on many occasions to get back down to the first floor after a good leg workout.
