Im 6'2 and 130! I need some advice on gaining weight

Guys i have weighed 130 since juniorhigh and im 20 now. everything i do seems to not work. i drink protein shakes and eat good but no weight. Any help is appreciated. What should i eat and how much and when? what workout should i do to gain mass? any good websites u guys know that could help? thanks again.

well... muscles weighs more then fat and looks alot better and to build muscle you need 3 things... to break em, feed em, and repair em... so you have to workout - eat lots of protein - and sleep lots... Eat 3 small meals and 3-4 mid-size snacks (protein shakes would count as one) and keep it consistant and healthy - monitor your calories and when you workout hit all the big muscle groups being sure not to forget your legs... Squats are probably the most important workout bc it ties into so many muscles... after your legs, comes your back and chest and then your arms and calves... hope this helps some - other may disagree but this is just my opinion

Eat, Eat, Eat You need to monitor what your daily intake is now. if you want to gain weight increase that number by at least 1000 cal . Try to eat as clean as possible. I' m 5'11" 200lbs and need 4000-5000 cal daily to maintain that weight. When I do a bulking cycle I up that intake to 5000-8000. Maddhatter is right you must not foget your legs they are the easiest place to pack on large amounts of muscle/weight.

at 6'2" 130, you don't need to count calories... well... you do, but you need to count them in that you need to get as many as possible. you can get away with some dirty calories as well... fast food is your friend, just make sure it's got plenty of protein.

lift heavy... work your legs. your upper body will only get as big as your legs will let it... your leg muscles are where you carry the most muscle mass.

lift hard/heavy 4-6 days a week... when you're just starting out, you'll make awesome gains, and you can lift more often. work every muscle group 1-1.5 times a week. sleep like you're getting paid by the hour, and eat like you're getting paid overtime by the calorie!!!

thanks for all the advice guys, sleeping about 12 hours aday man my whole family is like this, doc told me i have a very high rate of metabolism, i can eat fastfood all day and not gain a f-ing ounce!

EAT, EAT, EAT. ( just make sure you eat clean. )
When you work out don't ever work out more than an hour at a time ( but work out hard ) and rest 72 hours after every workout.
Aerobic exercise should be kept to a maximum of about 30 minutes a week.

you don't need to eat clean with your metabolism...

if you tried to eat clean, it'd cost you $50 a day to get what you need! LOL!

shoot for 4k calories a day. count calories at first so that you realize how little you're actually taking in right now.

I hear ya, I went to the doctors for a check up and i weighed 150lbs, I went back the next week for my imna---? (shots) and i lost 5lbs all i did all week was eat food and watch tv

Go to GNC or any store like that and buy Nitro Tech. Take this and eat and lift and you will gain weight. You must lift atleast an hour every other day. By doing this you will gain weight and also increase your max. My max has been going up 10 lbs every week. I started taking it 2 weeks ago and have gained 20 lbs and incresed my max by 20 lbs also. Oh yeah you mix this with milk and it taste just like a milk shake.

Eat spread out through the day. I have the same problem. Its cause I eat lots at one time and my body cant process all the food and usually end up just shitting it out....

Exactly. Try eating every 3 hours. When you eat make sure not to take in more than 35grams of protein or so in a sitting. Most peoples bodies can't process more than that much protein in a sitting and you end up wasting alot of expensive protein.

eat 2 boxes of mac and cheese every night before bed and wash it down with a 6 pack. that should fatten you up a bit
