Thumbs up noticed a MAJOR difference last night.

I haven't been doing anything special except eating a little "cleaner" diet with lots of protein and have actually slacked off on the weights for about a week or so but kept my concentration on a good cardio workout. Last night I decided to add a little weight to my chest workout just to see what I could do and it ended up being 30 lbs. more than I have been using before. I guess all this damn chicken and tuna have paid off a bit.

It's a little more than that. At least give me some credit.

Ok, not it has been about three weeks of me sand bagging and not hitting the weights very hard but mainly sticking to cardio. I must have gotten a bad ass batch of tuna or something because I am still up 20 - 30 lbs on EVERYTHING. I decided this week I am gonna go hard at it for a while and last night I was amazed at what I was working out with after slacking for so long.

Your good eating habits definately are part of the reason here but I bet that the "slacking" could be seen as giving your muscles a chance to recover completely between heavy workouts and I hear that is supposed to help more than many people realize.

Exactly, too many people eqaute their time in the gym to fitness and growth, but in actuality it's when you rest that your body takes the stimulus and nutrients you had previously given it, and transforms itself. A good nights sleep is a necessity to make solid gains.

It must have been all the beer and pizza I had last weekend. j/k......... I was holding strong for a good month or two but I finally gave in to the beer god last Saturday and got flowed. I don't think I hurt myself too bad though.

Again more reading somewhere in that vast land of the internet I saw where 1 "cheat day" a week is actually good. It allows you to feed those cravings and it also will increase yout metabolism. I dont' think they meant to take that to an extreme and eat only cake and donuts and beer all day as much as you can , but that it is not a bad thing to have one day a week where you eat bad stuff along with the good you are trying to eat every day.

Exactly, one day a week is needed to feel some sort of normalcy or you will go nuts. The off-day does need to be kept in check though, eat whatever you want, but watch your overall calories. Eat too much and you will wreck any positive outcome the week may have had.
