1 gram per pound of projected bodyweight is a good guidline, I've heard it as low as .85 g/lb. However, if you are a hardgainer I'd suggest ingesting 1.25 to 1.5 grams per pound. Protien is your friend.

should i drop protien when cutting up? what type of protien is best for cutting up and what type is best for bulking up? after months of kind of running in the dark, i'm finally learning some and feeling and SEEING a difference! i can't stop now, the more i see the more i want to work out.
