Hey, that's not a bad dead-lift by any means. I haven't been able to do them in almost a year due to a fugged up torso. How many reps?

JC, I have a saying I like to live by in the gym..."Go heavy or go home." So, according to that, you should be at home in your silk pajamas, sitting on the couch, watching "Murder She Wrote", eating bon-bons. Just my observations.

why is that? I have always though it was easier for a shorter person because the weight doesn't have to move as far.

335lbs is a good lift, there is always somebody stronger

here is a man you need to look at:Anthony Clark

I started deadlifting again this past Monday. I got in three fairly easy sets of 315 for 8 reps, I guess the time away did some good. My hams and glutes are still killin' me 3 days later.

Well if I'm not gonna be believed I might as well make it worth my while. I actually did 6 sets of 495 for 8, took a break, and then did one more burnset of 315 for 20.

this dude gets on.. put 10 plates on the bottom rack.. then another 8 on the top ( their legpress has 2 racke) and then a bar andLOADS it to the end.
he pushes it up ( with help from his partner) and doesnt even move the lock out bars
he moves it up and down maybe 3 "

lol

Hmmmm..... bar on top, another idea!

We've just started stacking plates on top of the damn thing, but that'll get dangerous after a while.... lol

Using ourselves on top, was the next idea, plus the plates!

so far in my life.. i have seen ONE person do 20 plates on legpress in 100% correct form.. full range of motion for reps.. and that was ronnie coleman.. everyone else i have seen do it does these crap 4-6" movements which dont work anything excpet ego.. not doubting you.. but if you are putting that much weight on and doing Full range of motion. you must have 36"+ thights.. because my puny 30s cant do that.

Leg press I can do probably 3 sets of 12 at 600lbs. with correct form. I'm only 175 lbs. so I don't think it's that bad. I see a ton of guys at the gym at UT load up the rack and do 3-6" reps, it really pisses me off, I don't know why.

Just knowing that someone's ego is getting a boost by how much they think they can do

<--can't wait to get back in the weight room next week

yeag.. but 600lbs is 7 plates on each side.. not 1203901230129..
7 plates for sets of 12 CLEAN is very veyr respectable..

i normlay do 3 plats for 20
4 for 20
5 for 16-20 ( when i get back into legs.. i can only hit 16.. when im training hard.. 20)
6 for 12-16
7 for 10-12
8 for 6-10
and then i either go to 8 and a 25.. or i do a few of 8 and then drop sets...

i guess my legs arent very strong. cos i wouldnt DARE to try 16+ plates on each side.

My back doesn't like squats either for some reason

I really hate leg workouts anyway, it uses too much of my energy, and I sweat like no other during leg workouts, but then again I have natural strength there.

I'm just glad that I do them correctly, and laugh at those who don't

White Lightening, I know where you are coming from. Believe me! I'm a trainer, and I see all sorts of funny stuff on our Leg Presses! I know what correct form is, and I know what my body is capable of. Honestly, I tried "going deep" on our Leg Press, and I felt my back and tail bone come WAY off the pads, and I actually felt my back torque.... and OUCH!!!!!!! So, no matter the weight, I know how far my beat up body can go. I have decent range of motion with "all that weight", and yes I can do it! I was somewhat gifted with leg strength. Since playing most sports growing up, mostly soccer, I've always had strong legs and calves. I will say this though, on certain leg work outs, I give up the "meathead" tendencies on Hack Squat, and go past parallel, like Jay Cutler does in his new DVD, just not as much weight, obviously. Somedays, I do go really heavy, and just 90 degrees.. some days, PAST!!!

I also heard about Ronnie's leg work outs. Such as his true DEEP squats with 8XX lbs And how he loads up a Bar and a 45 on each side (135 lbs) and he does Walking Lunges up and down his street... a long street!!

I do agree with you, but I know my limits, and I'm smart about it. I've learned from my mistakes as a young lifter!

ronnie coleman is a next door neighbor to my ex girlfriend. i remember talking to him when i was a kid, and he did D.A.R.E. at my elementary school.

that guy is still massive. he drives around in a bright yellow Hummer H1, and man the thing fits him well, lol.
