What is a good form of Cardio that isn't boring?

I've been running between 20-60 minutes a day, as well as a little bike riding, and a little bit of swimming. I get bored staring at the same asses on the treadmill, hehe, and I'm not amused by bikes...

Is basketball a good cardio workout? I've been playing every tuesday and thursday, for at least an hour, out in the sun...

I seem to get a better workout from basketball (probably because I'm in the sun), I definitely sweat a lot more, not sure if that matters though..

Any other good ideas?

Also, how many calories are generally burned just sitting around, without activity?

I'm about 5'11, 185-190, depending on the day and what I've eaten, if this matters on calories...

Thanks
Shawn

I am no expert but I would have to say that playing Basketball is some of the best cardio you can do, I am in the process of trying to get back in shape and I plan on playing a lot of b-ball, it is a helluva workout and way more fun than running on a treadmill

Basketball definately rocks as cardio! Its more competitive than swimming and alot more effective.

There's another form of cardio that involves another person.

Yeah, I'd vote sex as the most entertaining form of cardio. Aside from that, anything short of a two on two pickup game isn't gonna get your heart rate high enough for long enough to constitute a soid workout. Don't get me wrong, it all beats sitting on your butt, for a decent heart strengthening fat-burning session you're gonna have to sweat and push yourself.

Cardio training

True cardio training needs to be in your target rate (220- your age x 70%) A monitor is the best way to keep your heart rate. I spend 40-50 min. a day on my Lifecycle at 80% of my max rate. I'm an older guy than most of you, but that will bust your ass. I catch up on reading and listen to Russ Martin most of the time. I consider it a necessary evil, and part of my life. NOTHING interfer's with my session. I'm 6' 193. Got married 22 years ago @ 187. It works...

I can say that I've hit my target heart rate and for quite a while doing the sex cardio. You just gotta have a woman that can last. =)
