Pain in the palm...

When I started working out in my late teens I had a tendon that would shift in the middle and base of my palm. When it shifts it can be painful. This happens most when benching. I figured with the time off I've had (sometimes years) before lifting again it would go away. It never has. Just wondering if anyone else knows what I'm talking about/has the same problem/remedy?

I get the same pain in my palm, though I don't feel a tendon shifting or anything. It's more like I have a cut under my skin or like a vein pinching. I just have to re-adjust my grip to put more of the weight on the inside base of my palms when benching. Play around with your thumb positioning and allow your body to adjust accordingly to what you're putting it through. Oh and make sure your wrist is straight, I have a bad habit of not keeping my wrists straight all the time!

Funny you should mention wrist position. I discovered yesterday I hold the bar differently with the problem hand. It's weird because some days it doesn't bother me at all whereas others it keeps me from doing anything heavy.
