i'm having the same predicament. i'm not a big guy, the fat i do have is on my belly. it's getting better though. i lift weights 5 days a week at 24hr. every other day i switch between 30 min cardio and the p90x ab ripper video after my weight training. you dont have to run to do cardio (i hate running). i usually power walk on an incline or do the row machine. i also try and watch what i eat. usually i eat grilled chicken, steak, or a few turkey sandwhiches with some baked lays.
8.8 1/8th mile on stock motor (225k miles) w/exhaust 3.73's and drag radials.
