Is there any benefit to static lifting?

Just to keep workouts mixed up, I was wanting to know if there's any benefit to static resitance workouts? Like holding weights mid rep for as long as you can before finishing the last rep?

There can be. One thing I like to do to get the most out of my DB shoulder raises is hold the weights out on the last rep as long as I can until they gradually fall to my side. You gotta wring every ounce of effort out. I wouldn't theme a whole workout after it, but it definitely has its benefits, especially in an area that is stubborn to grow.
