Calves

My calves are less responsive to weight training. At the gym, I have gone to every other lift at the calf machine. Comments?

...not enough weight. I have been using my own weight or less.

Do them in between sets of leg press, on the leg press machine. You know you will have plenty of weight!

Just curious, what exercises are you doing? I mainly just do calf raises, inner calf raises, and outter calf raises. I just grab the heaviest dumbells I can pick up and bust out a set. Typically I do 20-30 reps a set before the burn is too much. And to knock out 2 exercises in 1 I'll do my shoulder shrugs with them.

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land." Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said,"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land." Now Obama has stolen your shovel..., taxed your asses, raised the price of camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

I haven't done a leg workout in the gym in months and my calves (and quads) are more cut than ever (God bless you, cycling ). When I dud though, it was just lots of calf raises, both weighted and unweighted, on a machine and/or just in between sets of other workouts.

Nothing like the burn on a road bike when you're cruising along peddling at a steady cadence with your toes pointed down.

If you're wanting bulk in your calves...hop on a bicycle/mountain bike ftw....I used to ride my bike EVERYWHERE when I was in 5th/6th/7th grade, uphill mostly, due to where I lived.....my calves BLEW up...and have stayed that way since....they're approx 18"(give or take a cm) in diameter, and are rock hard.

AND

my quads did the same....gave be the ability to squat almost 700lbs in middleschool, and riding my bike is ALL THE EXCERCISE I DID.

just my 2cents

You WILL have: Long Blonde Hair, Big Green Eyes, World Class Breasts, A Butt That Won't Quit, and Legs..that go ALL THE WAY UP!!!

I ran some sprints yesterday, for the first time in a couple years. I got a calf pump like I couldn't believe, I could barely walk for 30 mins afterwards.
